For those who don’t understand MTinT’s comment, when acceleration isn’t constant (like gravity) you feel a jerk, such as when starting from standing in a car; the jerk knocks you into your seat, then constant acceleration holds you there. There are YouTube videos showing girls in bikinis riding in sports cars all the time that demonstrate jerk–and not just the guy in the driver seat!
