To be a math nerd, you couldn’t have water in a glass in space. It would boil off rather rapidly. Of course they usually say that an engineer would say the glass is twice as big as it needs to be, but that’s more like what a physicist would say. An engineer would say “The glass is operating at design capacity with a safety factor of 2”
